Touch Hunger

"Touch Hunger" is a term borrowed from psychology, and is used to describe the human need for physical contact which may manifest itself mentally and physiologically when this need is not met. Also known as Skin hunger, it is a phenomenon that has mainly affected newborn children and the elderly, it is understood to afflict a large number of individuals whose connected existence diverts them from human contact.
